1 Reis 2
Trapp applies Solomon's killing his enemies quickly to what Christians should do to our inveterate enemy the the flesh (Sin) writing “Oh that we would be as quick in slaying our arch-rebels, those predominant sins that threaten our precious souls!” (cf Col 3:5+, Ro 8:13+). Sadly, a good beginning of killing enemies does not guarantee a good finish, for Solomon ended up failing miserably in 1 Kings 11:1-43+ falling deeping into sexual immorality and gross idolatry (Note in Scripture you often find these two "bedfellows" lurking in the same Scriptural context!)
